Thursday, November 18, 2021 the CONCORDA project will come to an end and the Nieuwsbrief van de Praktijkproef Amsterdam has dedicated to it the October release.

During an inspirational event dedicated to 5G in automated driving and intelligent transport, CONCORDA closing event will start at 11.30 at the Automotive Campus 30, 5708 JZ, Helmond and there will be an interactive discussions with government representatives from the Rijkswaterstaat, KPN and all Concorda partners.

The project leader Sebe Vogel (Rijkswaterstaat) has already expressed his point of view on the project’s results. He has led trials in the Amsterdam region in the past four years and he underlined the important step forward during them. More cooperation between roadside and automated vehicles was essential to guarantee road safety and more efficient traffic flows. Dr. Eusebiu Catana, senior manager Innovation & deployment at ERTICO- ITS EUROPE shares the same perspectives. He highlighted the importance of new synergies to foster cooperation and technological development. This aspect also represents a challenge, but the reward is priceless.

CONCORDA project helped prepare European infrastructure for automated driving, testing innovative techniques such as Mobile Edge Computing ‘MEC’ and also “vehicle-to-everything communication” C-V2X. It also is the first European project to receive the security certificate ETS PKI 1.3.1.

The next version of CONCORDA project is Concorda 2.0 that is now scheduled from late 2022 to late 2025.
